Our vision: Services, schools and kindergartens work collaboratively to support children and their families to ensure everyone is ready to get the most out of their foundation education.
The transition to school is a critical time in a child’s life. Go Goldfields has developed a shire-wide approach that brings together services, kindergartens, and schools to ensure every child is ready to make the most of their foundation education. By putting children and families at the centre of planning, we create seamless pathways to learning success, fostering confidence and capability from the earliest years.

May 2021- Engaged with local parents and carers – Let’s talk about raising kids in Central Goldfields!
June 2021 – Developed A Great Start to School Data and Research paper
August 2021 – Facilitated A Great Start to School Vision and Outcomes Workshop
July 2022 – Finalised A Great Start to School Priority Outcomes Map 2022 – 2024
What has happened since:
- Established A Great Start to School Priority Area Group
- Launched the Central Goldfields Great Start to School Transition Plan
- Production of Central Goldfields Annual Transition Calendar for teachers 2023 and 2024
- Production of Central Goldfields Kinder to School Guide for Families 2023 and 2024
- Collecting and sharing data for collaborative approach to School readiness Funding Plans
