Since its inception, Go Goldfields has been able to attract significant external funding for its collective impact work including the support of Regional Development Victoria as well as catalytic philanthropists the ten20 Foundation, (before it reached it’s sunset closure of operations) and the Sabemo Trust, who wish to work with innovative communities ready to disrupt and challenge existing thinking and systems to bring about long-term positive change.
CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS SHIRE COUNCIL
Go Goldfields was brought into the Wellbeing and Social Inclusion arm of Council in 2016. Goldfields Shire is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the central part of the state. It covers an area of 1,534 square kilometers and, at the 2016 Census had a population of approximately 13,000 residents. It includes the towns of Bealiba, Carisbrook, Dunolly, Maryborough and Talbot.
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT VIC
Regional Development Victoria (RDV) is the Victorian Government’s lead agency responsible for rural and regional economic development.RDV operates in partnership with regional businesses and communities, and all tiers of government to deliver the Government’s regional development agenda and instigate positive change for regional and rural Victorians. Our work includes enabling businesses to invest to consolidate and grow jobs, strengthen regional economies and enrich the social fabric of Victoria’s regional cities and towns. RDV provides this support through a series of funding mechanisms, most notably the Government’s $500 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund that is designed to deliver important place-based planning and infrastructure investment around the state.
SABEMO
The Sabemo Foundation was formed in 1999 in memory of Vittorio Moratelli whose wish it was to support projects that helped and assisted children. In the period from 1999 to 2015 Sabemo Foundation made yearly grants in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland for early intervention programs to assist children up to the age of 8 years and their families. Following a review of activity in 2015 Sabemo shifted its focus and now gives exclusively to community-based collective impact programs. Sabemo Foundation has supported Go Goldfields at Maryborough and The Hive at Mount Druitt in Western Sydney since 2016.
