The Nest Facilitator is a new community facing role developed to oversee a dedicated space, information and activities for parents, expectant parents and carers in the Central Goldfields Shire as part of the Every Child, Every Chance initiative. The Nest will bring a range of parenting and early years services, program, information, and activities together in one place to increase accessibility and support for local families.

This role will be filled by a warm and compassionate individual that can foster a nurturing space. The Nest Facilitator will be an active listener with a curious mind, and be able to support parents with warm referrals to services. They’ll manage the day-to-day operations of the drop-in space and programs running for families.

This is a truly unique role working in a passionate team that is making meaningful contribution to the lives of children and families in Central Goldfields.

Day to day role requirements

  • Facilitate ‘The Nest’ parent and carers drop-in session at least 3 times a week welcoming parents, expectant parents and carers and to utilise the facilities, connect with others, and access information and support.
  • Support and encourage connections between parents to build opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and social networks.
  • Collect information from visiting parents to inform programming of guest speakers, visiting practitioners or areas of interest to be held within The Nest.  
  • Build ongoing engagement of families through regular communication and promotion via social media.
  • Curate and maintain accessible resources (physical and electronic) on women’s heath, local parenting supports and early years services.
  • Act as the key contact for Hub bookings, organise room set ups and equipment requirements for activities, programs, and events.  
  • Support enquiries for Centralised Kindergarten Registration.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Parents and Carers Hub including cleaning, maintenance and OHS compliance.
