The Tipping the Scales project is now up and running in Maryborough. The project is a Community Justice Partnership (CJP) and justice reinvestment program run by Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre (LCCLC) in Central Goldfields Shire.
LCCLC is working with Go Goldfields partner organisations to collectively identify and address injustices faced by women, children, young people and families impacted by family violence in our community. They aim to address the needs of vulnerable community members and provide victims and survivors of family violence with timely legal advice, advocacy and connection to appropriate supports.
Community lawyer, Robert Southgate and community development worker, Carolyn Dew, are working with vulnerable clients who are seeking legal advice and representation at Maryborough courts.
Local community services in the Maryborough region are also invited to connect with the Tipping the Scales team to look at the possibility of providing legal support or rights-based legal education (e.g. around family violence or child protection) for their clients and patients. To start a conversation call (03) 5445 0909.
